I didn’t expect to be absent from this blog so long. I think originally I dropped off because I was in a little bit of a funk or overwhelmed by work or something along those lines, nothing too deep or devastating. And I didn’t descend into a huge valley, it was pretty even keel. I’ve been maintaining a lot of great habits and I feel like finally I am building that lasting change that will see me lose all the weight and become more active and healthy.

I’ve started using my standing desk. It is permanently set up now and the place where I stowed it now has a tower of three cabinets living there, so it can’t go back. I time my standing throughout the workday and I always get at least three hours, but sometimes much more. I purposely stand for meetings and sometimes it feels like I need to stand in order to get locked onto a task.

Matcha and green tea are part of my regular almost daily life. But I’ve switched things up so I don’t drink the matcha first thing in the morning anymore so that the oat milk in it doesn’t break my fast. I’ve been intermittent fasting 18:6 consistently for awhile now, but only really tracking it the last few weeks to see if I am really doing it naturally, if it’s actually my default. And I think it is.

I still haven’t weighed in, but I plan to on May 31st to see how that is going. I’m not really monitoring my eating. I’m doing mostly vegan with the odd meaty meal. I do plan to go WFPB still, but I’m being loose and free with the whole food thing right now, focusing more on learning intuitive eating. The food is the easy part, it’s all the other things that I’m focusing on first because they are the hardest parts for me to really change for the long-term.

Me and Pat are walking a bit and I’m finding it easier than I did in the winter. I am more steady on my feet and less stiff. I’m no longer inflamed. Today, I climbed to the top step of my step ladder and leaned into the loft section to grab my camp chair and then I pulled it over and hefted it up and down to the floor. All by myself. Six weeks ago, I would not have been capable of this.

I’m on week four of The Artist’s Way exercises, working my way through them and feeling like I am releasing the artist within. My morning routine consists of Morning Pages now, gratitude, affirmations, audio books, meditation and more.

So, I may have been gone from here, but I am doing lots of things.
